1. What Ledger is
Ledger is a web service and API that converts bank and card statements (PDF or bank CSV) into import-ready transaction files and checks every row against the statement's running balance.
2. Results, not guarantees
Conversions are produced automatically from the statements you upload. Rows that do not reconcile are flagged, but you remain responsible for reviewing an export before importing it into your books. We are not liable for accounting or tax decisions made using our output.
3. Your account
Keep your password and API keys secret. You are responsible for activity under your account and keys. Revoke a key in the dashboard as soon as you suspect it leaked.
4. Plans, quotas and payment
The free plan and paid plans have monthly usage quotas (pages) shown on the pricing page. When a quota is used up, the API returns HTTP 402 until the next period or until you upgrade. Paid plans are billed in advance and renew automatically until cancelled.
Orders are processed by Polar (polar.sh), our merchant of record. Polar handles payment, invoices and sales tax or VAT, and its own terms apply to the purchase. You can cancel at any time from the billing page; access continues until the end of the paid period.
5. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, resell raw access without a written agreement, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend keys that put the service at risk.
6. Availability and changes
We aim for high availability but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change features or these terms; material changes will be emailed to account holders at least 14 days in advance.
7. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
